ith the holidays nipping at our heels, we are doing our share of sampling holiday cookies here at the creamery – of course we try to off-set these sweet treats with a daily glass of healthy Nancy’s kefir! Anyway, in many of our homes this is the time when our kitchens are filled with the delicious, and sometimes reminiscent, smell of cookies or traditional pies, from recipes passed down from friends and family members. Whatever the dish, the holidays are about honoring traditions. This issue’s featured recipe is from a chef who has spent her life honoring family traditions– Lisa Schroeder, chef and owner of two Portland, Oregon restaurants focused around preserving “motherly” food, Mother’s Bistro and Mama Mia Trattoria. Wanda's favorite recipe is easy -- Nancy's Honey Yogurt straight up!Lisa has given us a delicious brownie recipe using Nancy’s Cream Cheese that is simple for kids, and will make the rest of the family happy too.
